Nice drive.

Yes my sister, your fat brother here had been working out and swimming regularly. Almost on alternate days. Dad's new car is nice to drive. So nice that am tempted to kidnap it back to Gold Coast.

Back!

I came back on tues early morning. Touched down at 5am. Was running arnd the past few days and had been spending alot of time with my family. Had eaten some of the food I wanted to and am still looking forward to a few dinners that was supposed to take place soon.

1. ZZ Belated B'day celebration.
2. Mel Belated B'day celebration.
3. Muscular-macho man wine and dinner.
4. SL's Christmas Party
5. RUB's Christmas Party

In no order of preference I must say.

Spoke to a good friend of mine not long ago, and it just seems that sometimes even a short period of 4 months can change alot. Looking back, can't help but agree. Much has changed and even til now, sometimes it just ain't easy adapting to the new changes. By right, it shouldn't take too long but certain issues are just time-consuming.

Time to stop thinking too much and maybe get off my butt and head to the gym once again.

Nails.

Was out shopping yesterday when I walked past those small stores with bunch of ladies standing around. I was look at the shops nearby when suddenly this short ang moh approached me. She stopped me in my steps and the following conversation took place.

Lady: Hi there, shopping?
Me: er.. yea..
Lady: Got a girlfriend?
Me: Huh?
Lady: Got a minute?
Me: err... yea..

She took my left hand, selected my middle finger and started to file them.

Lady: Let me surprise you. Don't be alarmed.
Me: Oh...

Her mouth went on and on abt some filing products that cost AUD$80. A filing block, hand cream and some lotion which was made from the Dead Sea. Well, the speed she was talking at reminds me alot of the M16 that we fire during NS and it was that fast. After a minute of explaining all the products while she manhandled me hand,...

Lady: Ready to be surprised?
Me: Huh?... I guessed so...

This is what my middle finger looked like after that one minute.

Notice the difference?

Time to flash my middle finger more often. =)

Languages of Love.

Last night the BBQ was fantastic. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere. Invited Eziq and a couple friends and we had a fantastic time. Soon, we came across an interesting topic; "Languages of Love; Touch. Acts of service. Gifts. Words. Time." It got us chatting for the next hour or so and got to say, it does hold certain truth in it. Everyone usually demostrate 2 dominant characteristic traits out of the 5.

Touch
Refers to hugs, holding hands and other intimate stuff. Basically all the physical side of the relationship.

Acts of service
The things that one do for another. Like washing of car, doing dishes,...etc

Gifts
Presents lor. What else.

Words
Be it spoken or written. Words move pple. No one can deny that.

Time
Quality time spent with one another. Time-off taken to accompany one another.

Normally people overlook each other's good points and thus, resulting in a couple fighting, ending a relationship. Tamsin listed one example.

One couple ended their relationship based on both feeling unappreciated all the time. However, when spoken to individually, its easy to see why. The guy is more of the Acts of services and Words kinda guy. The girl is more of the Gifts and Touch. He will do little things like washing her car, sending her to work instead of asking her to drive for her. He will also write nice cards and is good with his words. She, on the other hand, give ties, wine-opener etc. Most of the time, all she wants are hugs, kisses and cuddles. So after much discussion with another friend, they got back together and known to appreciate each other more. And she did mentioned that they are still together.

I guess its kinda true. One tend not to see the 2 common traits that their own partner show and as a result, the relationship might not work. Don't you think?

Over and done with. Facebook.

Yes. Exams are finally over. Now can start packing my room and start putting the things into boxes. Then I would be home soon~!

Anyway, had been hooked onto facebook ever since I joined it. Its way way better than friendster. I love the photos application alot like how you can tag the people in the photos to your friends. And of course, with it comes alot of weird applications like Vampire, Oktoberfest and etc. Applications like Superpoke, Grow a gift, Hatching eggs,... etc are simply addictive. However, such applications are nice to play with and the more you use it, the more stuff you can unlock. However, not everyone seemed to like it. Some people finds it irritating and 无聊 to use the applications and see no point in using the applications to get more 'actions' or gifts to send. Well, I think Facebook is more for people with the time to play with it and although its better than Friendster,, its not as user-friendly. However, privacy is much protected by Facebook as not everyone can see your profile that easily.

Below, a video that beautifully summaries Facebook. Enjoy~!

Why is everyone getting married at this time? Don't they know we have to do Christmas shopping as well? Hahaha. Somehow, there's a feeling that my wallet is gonna be alot lighter than expected with so much weddings.

Last night I tried making my own steak. Rump steak in red-wine mushroom sauce with mash potato and cabbage. Haha. Then, all these with a glass of red wine. Its GOOD~! Farking good! Haha. At least, good food and wine to keep me company for the night.

Wow.

I had this wonderful lunch cooked by a friend of mine. It taste so good that it reminds me so much of the food I miss back home. And to know that he actually saved the last piece of ingredient just for me, I was lucky.

Here is the much anticipated 皮蛋粥.

With mince pork and some 油条. Wow. Delicious~! I should learn how to make that from him. Hehehe. It was an afternoon well-spent and no doubt that we chat alot more and I hope to taste more cooking of his again!~ Besides, I still need to pick up his recipe for Cupcakes and Pecan Pies.

Had my Biochemistry paper this morning. Just hope it did enough to achieve the grade I want as afterall, I know I tried my best. Then this morning when I was doing last minute revision for my paper, I received this msg from a friend of mine.

Fren sent 11/9/2007 1:20 AM:

Hi Ben,

Fren sent 11/9/2007 1:23 AM:

Would like to officially invite you to our wedding dinner on xx/x/08, sunday, and also are you free to be my brother too? Pls inform me if you can. But don't feel obligated if you can't make it. : )

One word.

Wow.

My jaw actually dropped when I saw the msg. It was a big surprise. I thought they were only joking when they brought up the idea of me being part of the 'brothers' 6 months back. To be part of their BIG event, its an honour. To be honest, I never see it coming. Well, first I got to say I am very happy for the both of them. At some point of time, I was rather close to the both of them, and its just amazing how things had turned out!

Can still remember last time when we sit by the ice-cream place and had home-made ice-cream or the wonderful Christmas Party or even the daily lunch break when we used to take the cab out for good food arnd Toa Payoh. Wow, time really flies. Haha. Man~.. where has all the time gone?

In any case, definitely seems like an event worth looking forward to. And it definitely feels good to know you are being thought of even when you are so far away. =)

Its like a huge burden is finally lifted off my shoulders and maybe as someone suggested "have chocolate or a good meal tonight" to pamper myself before I cheong for the remaining 3 papers. One coming up this fri then next tues then thurs.

Maybe a proper update again when I have the brains for it. Right now, my brain is fried and am so tired and exhausted to write anything else.

Halloween..~

Amid all the studying, its hard not to notice that Halloween had descended upon us. All the little kids who dressed up, fighting the Commando mosquitoes, going door to door screaming "Tricks or Treats!~" can be heard miles away. I figured that I can have my own Halloween fun as well, except I am not stepping out of my house to feed the blardie insects. With Tamsin's approval, I pasted 2 notes outside the main door.

they had been warned...

the second note... i was nice enough to draw something..

However, no kids seem to take us seriously at all! 3 of us in the house were busy cramming for the exams and our door just kept being knocked on. Tamsin had been opening the door nonstop for the kids and I believed she was thankful when I offered to do the next one. So when I got abit tired of staring at my Anatomy books, I decided to answer the door with this on...

no worries peeps.. its just the mask.. i dun smoke, remember?

Of course this is a mask which belongs to Jason and Tamsin let me use it for the fun of it. Needless to say, the 5 kids at the door screamed and shouted when I answer the door. Didn't know they were not expecting someone like this. Somehow, I think they would had taken more candy if I were not wearing the mask.

Strangely though, kids stop turning up at our door immediately after that. =)
